The Open Door Animal Sanctuary serves the community by taking in stray homeless and otherwise unwanted cats and dogs. Each day, they provide shelter, food, medical care and most of all LOVE to nearly 400 animals. Each animal has a face to remember and a story to tell. Many of their precious angels who arrive at Open Door recognize fore the first time in their lives that there can be love and trust in the world. Every animal who comes to the them has a home and a second chance at life.
Open Door is funded entirely from donations, bequests, memberships and fundraisers. They are caring for more animals then ever before. Your on going support of any amount will be greatly appreciated. Gifts to our sanctuary allow us to provide extraordinary care for the animals and every gift really does matter. A little goes a long way at Open Door, and your planned gift to our sanctuary is an investment in the future of animals. They encourage you to contact them to learn more about membership levels and options for planned giving.
The Open Door Animal Sanctuary is a 501(C)(3) tax except nonprofit organization. The do not receive any federal funding and their basic means of support comes entirely through donations.
Open Door is a quality of life shelter.
The organization was founded in 1975 by Mrs. Joan Costello-Oetting and Mrs. Carol (Marlin) Perkins. Had it not been for their compassion, vision and hard work, The Open Door Sanctuary would not exist today and would not have been able to help thousands of injured, abandoned and unwanted cats and dogs that would have perished either in the elements or at the hands of other animal organizations.
Seniors for Seniors Foster Program:

Open Door will provide food, wellness car (At our facility) and numerous other benefits, depending on the animals needs. A win-win for all.
Adopting One Of Our Precious Angels:
Whether you are looking for your first family pet or adding to your existing family, the staff at Open door can help you find the special someone who is right for your home. The members of their cat and dog teams are experienced in matching up the right pet with the right situation and making sure that your new family member is properly introduced to your current ones. There goal is to find permanent, loving homes for our residents of the sanctuary so they do not end up back on the streets.
You will be asked to complete a questionnaire prior to meeting their cats and dogs, then the next step is to fall in love with one of their furry friends. After deciding on that special someone they will schedule a visit to your home before finalizing the adoption.
They do have one final requirement; you most promise to give your new member of the household 100 kisses a day.........
The adoption fee is $120.00 and includes.
